Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a natural method of health care that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.
Massage
Massage therapy is a hands-on treatment designed to relax muscles, reduce tension, and support overall well-being. It can help relieve pain, improve circulation, enhance mobility, and provide stress relief. At Jansen Family Chiropractic, our certified massage therapist tailors each session to meet your unique needs. Whether you’re an athlete recovering from a workout, an expectant mother seeking comfort, or someone looking to recharge, massage therapy can help you feel your best.
Decompression
Spinal decompression therapy, also known as non-surgical spinal decompression, is a practice that stretches the spine, using a spinal decompression table or other device, in order to create negative pressure and space within the disc to allow disc fluid to move back into place. This creates an environment in which the disc can receive more nutrients and therefore heal itself more quickly and effectively. The ultimate goal of spinal decompression therapy is to relieve the patient’s chronic back, arm, neck, and/or leg pain, and to heal the source of said pain.
Myofascial Release (Cupping)
Cupping is a therapy that helps treat musculoskeletal disorders by using suction to create negative pressure underneath the cup. The negative pressure helps to decompress the area by lifting the skin and the layer of tissue underneath the skin, the fascia, up into the cup. This creates space for the underlying tight muscle to lay down and relax. Cupping also helps bring blood flow to the area in need. Blood carries important nutrients which help with tissue healing. We use myofascial decompression to address compensatory movement patterns. This is done by adding movement with treatment. Movement can be in the form of sliding the cups over the necessary tissue or leaving the cups static while moving body parts.
Laser
Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and is thought to help accelerate the healing process. It can be used on patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic conditions in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality. Cold laser therapy can be used on patients of all ages and can be used on open and closed wounds.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound therapy uses sound waves to penetrate all layers of the skin. Therapeutic ultrasound is often used by chiropractors and physiotherapists to reduce pain, increase circulation and increase mobility of soft tissues. Additionally, the application of ultrasound can be helpful in the reduction of inflammation, reducing pain and the healing of injuries and wounds.
